Launch platforms and dates
Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2 launched on August 25, 2026 for Steam, Epic Games Store, Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5. Daybreak's official launch announcement and EG7's release notice both confirm the date and the same launch-platform list.
The Nintendo Switch 2 edition is scheduled for September 29, 2026. That is a planned future release as of this guide, not a claim that the Switch 2 edition is already available, so check the official store listing again if you are reading near or after that date.
What Xbox players get
The Xbox Store supports single-player and online co-op for two to four players. It also carries Xbox cross-platform multiplayer and cross-platform co-op labels, plus the Xbox Play Anywhere capability label on the current listing.
Online multiplayer on Xbox consoles requires an eligible Xbox Game Pass subscription sold separately. That requirement is separate from buying the game and does not mean the title itself is included in the Game Pass catalog.
PC storefront and hardware distinction
The PC version is sold through both Steam and the Epic Games Store. Epic's official requirements target Windows 11 and DirectX 12, with 35 GB of storage for both its minimum 1080p/30 Low target and recommended 1080p/60 High target.
Those are PC hardware requirements, not specifications for the console editions. The official PC listing supplied here does not confirm DLSS or frame generation, so platform comparisons should not assume those features are present.
Planning a mixed-platform squad
The official site confirms cross-platform co-op and cross-platform voice chat for squads of up to four. This makes platform choice less restrictive for a group, although the supplied evidence does not publish a detailed pair-by-pair matchmaking matrix or Switch 2-specific crossplay behavior.
Keep every copy patched before forming the lobby. The launch patch fixed cross-platform friend voice chat and several Xbox invite, host-crash and network-condition problems, which makes version parity the first practical check when a mixed-platform lobby misbehaves.
